I'm shooting a lot of bird pictures lately. Birds are my new sports photography. Long lenses, fast shutter speeds, moving subjects, trying to stay in focus.
Got a few bird shots on other pages, but I'm starting to get enough to warrant its own page.

August 11, 2020 - Padilla Bay
I'm new at this bird stuff. I'm having a blast, though. Found a website that has a birding checklist for this area by season. They told me, this time of year, I could expect gulls and herons. That's about it.
And so, dear reader, that's what you can expect as well.
Bird in flight (BIF)
Bird On Foot (BOF)
Bird on watch (BOW)
Bird on speaker (BOS)
No birds at all (NBAA)

August 24, 2020 - Billy Frank Jr. National Wildlife Refuge
Took the 400 out to the Nisqually delta this morning. Pretty slow, wildlife-wise.
Except for these two little fellas. I think they were waiting for their mom. I watched them for about 15 minutes and they never left their perch.
They took some incoming, but held their ground.
More than once. Life can be hard in the wilderness.
Sometimes you gotta be a little badass. An angry bird. Now where were we?
